Electronic Warfare (EW) is activity in the electromagnetic spectrum to impede the hostile activities of an enemy and is a vital and proven capability for operating successfully in complex, contested environments. In the Space domain, EW has the potential to be a game changer in that it may be able to negate hostile activities without  generating additional Space debris, which is already an issue of major concern with a negative impact on safety in Space.
In this session we will provide an overview of Electronic Warfare in Space and introduce useful technologies that can be applied to Space EW.

Tim Fountain, Market Segment Manager Radar / EW Rohde & Schwarz
Tim Fountain is the Global Market Segment Manager for the RADAR and Electronic Warfare segment at Rohde & Schwarz. Tim has over 30 years of experience working with market leaders in the test and measurement industry, focusing on RF and microwave applications in aerospace and defense. He started his professional life as an application engineer and has since held roles in R&D, corporate management, product planning, product marketing and business development.
Tim holds a master’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Hertfordshire in the UK. He is also certified as a chartered professional engineer in Europe.
